Otherwise, the human population provided the potential nutrients around 326.20 tons N/year and 48.93 tons P/year. The plantation area contributed potential nutrients 61.67 tons N/year and 15.47 tons P/year, whereas paddy field contributed nutrients about 24.41 tons N/year and 11.46 tons P/year. In this study, the numbers of potential nutrients from forest and shrub areas were not determine. The total input of potential nutrients from the catchment area was 412.28 tons N/year and 75 tons P/year. ![]() The results showed that the potential of nutrients from floating net-cages was approximately 68.51 88.66 tons N/year and 3.67 - 4.74 tons P/year. ![]() The floating net-cage for aquaculture was found in lake water body which had to cover about 2.79 ha in total. There were five types of land-use in Laut Tawar Lake catchment areas which were forest, shrub, plantation, paddy field and settlement areas. This study aims determined the potential input of nitrogen (N) and phosphorous (P) based on the existing conditions of the Laut Tawar Lake ecosystem. ![]() The lake catchment area is 18877.23 ha, consisting of 43 sub-catchments. Laut Tawar Lake located in eastern of Takengon, Aceh Tengah which has covering 5862 ha in area and 49.75 km of coastline.
